What a terrible thing to waste.
Another burnt out day.
Another hour obsessing.
But nothing much has changed.

When everything on my mind
Takes up all my time.
A crying shoulder, over and over
And we become maligned.

Is it good enough, is it good enough,
Is it good enough to reason I am
Giving you the best I can
But I need you to understand

Waking or sleeping,
Staring or blinking,
Floating or sinking.

I pray to God and ask for help
And thank him for my health
And everything is better,
As far as I can tell

A year just comes and goes
And everybody knows
And I can't recall much at all
Of problems that arose.

You can never know, you can never know,
You can never know but honesty I'm
Giving you the best I can
But I need you to understand
